Transilluminated phlebectomy
is a surgical
procedure variation on the standard vein
removal or phlebectomy. In this procedure
the vein is removed by utilizing a powered surgical device
while the vein is being transilluminated by a second
surgical tool. In this fashion several veins can be removed
from one area using less incisions. This is similar to the
liposuction technique.
