Endovenouus Laser Treatment (EVLT) procedure is a treatment alternative to surgical stripping of the diseased veins of the leg that cause varicose veins. A laser fiber is inserted through a small incision under ultrasound-guidance into the diseased vein. Laser energy is delivered to seal the faulty vein, thereby eliminating the vein and its accompanying reflux. EVLT can be performed using local anesthesia in a physician’s office, as well as in an outpatient hospital setting or surgicenter.
Because treatment with VenaCure EVLT is minimally invasive and is catheter-based, it results in little to no scarring.
